Penderyn unveils its 7th edition of the Icons of Wales range, and takes us back to the days of Welsh legends by celebrating the one of Rhiannon. Rhiannon means "great queen" in Welsh, and refers to a female character with multiple magical powers. Its legend is told in the Mabinogi, an 11th century work that brings together Welsh legends. A nod from Penderyn to her Welsh roots and her female distillation team. This single malt is made from the Penderyn distillate, 100% malted barley distilled in a Faraday still, the symbol of the distillery. An expression aged in former Sherry Oloroso barrels, then matured in former Bordeaux Grand Cru barrels.
Soft and balanced. Creamy caramel, red fruits and frangipane. Chocolate ganache, spices.
